During Turning Point USA’s ‘All-American Halftime Show,’ a special tribute was paid to the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk, on Sunday. The event featured a performance by Kid Rock, who was joined by Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and Brantley Gilbert. As Kid Rock concluded one of his songs, images of Charlie Kirk, his wife Erika, and their children appeared on the video screens surrounding the stage.

“In remembrance of Charlie Kirk,”

was displayed across the images while one of Kirk’s speeches was broadcasted. Charlie Kirk, known for his influential role as a conservative activist, tragically passed away in September while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University.

The musical event presented patriotic performances that served as an alternative to the Super Bowl LX halftime show, which featured Bad Bunny. Brantley Gilbert, donning a T-shirt that read “God, family, country,” set the tone for the celebration by proclaiming it as “real American.”

The show was broadcasted live on YouTube, attracting an audience of over 4.8 million viewers before it concluded. War Department Secretary Pete Hegseth noted that he and his family were among those watching the performance.

Andrew Kolvet from Turning Point USA emphasized the show’s aim, stating, ‘The All-American Halftime Show’ is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom.” He added that the program aimed to provide a fun and engaging entertainment option for families watching the big game, and expressed confidence that millions would tune in to enjoy the performances.

Prior to the show, Brantley Gilbert shared his motivation for participating, explaining, “I’m a songwriter who grew up, and still lives, in Jackson County, Georgia. My goal in the music industry was to sell out the local theater close to my home and earn a living through my songwriting. Despite the challenges of my past, I’m proud of choosing a new direction in life.” Gilbert, a recovering addict, highlights sharing his journey through music as a means to support others during their difficult times. He expressed his Christian faith and love for the country, emphasizing his dedication to those who serve and have sacrificed. Above all, he takes pride in his roles as a husband and father of three.
