Senior Russian Military Official Shot in Moscow: Investigation Underway

A senior figure in the Russian military, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseyev, has been hospitalized after being shot in Moscow early Friday morning. According to official statements, Lt. Gen. Alekseyev, who holds a high-ranking position as a deputy chief in Russian military intelligence, was the victim of a shooting incident in a residential area of northwest Moscow.

The Russian Investigative Committee reported that Alekseyev was attacked by an unidentified individual who managed to escape the scene.
