President Donald Trump reached out to Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s ‘Today’, as efforts to locate her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, intensified. This information was confirmed by a White House official, who spoke to Fox News Digital, though further details regarding the call were not disclosed.
Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was reported missing from her residence in Arizona and has not been seen since Saturday. President Trump expressed concern over the incident on Tuesday and pledged federal assistance, stating his intent to speak with Savannah Guthrie about the matter.
According to Sheriff Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. The sheriff confirmed that the investigation is being treated as a criminal matter, though no further specifics were offered.
A police source informed Fox News Digital about the discovery of ‘blood drops’ leading from the home’s entryway to the driveway, which adds complexity to the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest in the case, but continue to interview anyone who may have interacted with Nancy Guthrie. Sheriff Nanos cautioned against spreading unverified information, emphasizing that it does not contribute to solving the case.
This conversation between Trump and Guthrie is notable due to their past exchanges. During the 2020 election cycle, Guthrie moderated a town hall with Trump at which she challenged some of his statements. Despite their previous disagreements, Trump said on Tuesday that he has always had a good rapport with Guthrie.
The search for Nancy Guthrie grows more urgent as time passes since her disappearance. Savannah Guthrie, maintaining hope, has turned to her faith during this challenging period. In an Instagram post, she wrote about the family’s reliance on prayer and expressed gratitude for public support.
The message from Savannah emphasized belief in prayer, humanity, and a higher power, seeking communal prayers for her mother’s safe return.
