An Illinois resident is facing allegations after court documents revealed he threatened a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) special agent based in Minneapolis. Jose Alberto Ramirez is scheduled to appear in federal court on Wednesday afternoon, accused of threatening the agent using information sourced from materials illicitly taken following the shooting incident involving Renee Good.
As outlined in an affidavit, agitators reportedly stole various materials, including personal data such as residential addresses, phone numbers, and emails from government vehicles in Minneapolis. This confidential information was subsequently made public through social media platforms.
‘After the employees' personal information and documentation was compromised, several of the documents, including residential addresses, phone numbers, and emails, were posted publicly online on social media,’ the affidavit states.
The affidavit provides further details on the nature of the threats. It describes a series of text messages, laced with profanity, sent to the work phone of an FBI special agent from a specific phone number. These messages conveyed threatening sentiments and an implied knowledge of the agent’s family details.
It also mentions a voicemail left by the same number, which similarly contained threats and abusive language directed at the agent.
Additional background on Ramirez includes an incident report from the Village of Schaumberg Police Department dating back to 2024. The report details a complaint made by a manager at Woodfield Mall in Illinois, who accused Ramirez of making threats, including the use of a firearm, against another employee. The manager identified the same phone number linked to the threats against the FBI agent as being connected to Ramirez.
Ramirez’s criminal history is detailed in the affidavit, listing several felonies and misdemeanors in Illinois, including Misdemeanor Domestic Battery/Physical Contact in 2017, Felony Burglary in 2017, Felony Mob Action in 2020, and another Felony Burglary in 2023.
