Dunkin’ Brings ’90s Stars to 2026 Super Bowl Ad Featuring Ben Affleck and More

Dunkin’ has tapped into the rich vein of 1990s nostalgia for its 2026 Super Bowl commercial, featuring a star-studded ensemble that includes Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, and several other icons of the decade. The advertisement, which captures the essence of ’90s sitcoms, also features Tom Brady in a special cameo, adding to the allure of the spot.

In what is a twist from his previous Dunkin’ appearances, Affleck leads the commercial with a plot titled “Good Will Dunkin’.” The scene is set at MIT in 1995, nodding to Affleck’s acclaimed film “Good Will Hunting.” The fictional sitcom includes a roster of legendary ’90s stars such as Matt LeBlanc, Jason Alexander, Ted Danson, Jaleel White, Jasmine Guy, Alfonso Ribeiro, and, of course, Aniston. Each of these actors showcases their memorable TV personas, with Danson reprising elements of his beloved character Sam Malone from “Cheers.”

For Jaleel White, famous for his role as Steve Urkel in “Family Matters,” participating in Dunkin’s newest campaign was a moment of personal fulfillment. “When Affleck called directly and said, ‘I want you in this too,’ I felt truly honored to be part of such an iconic group,” White said. He mentioned that each scene in the commercial resonates with ’90s charm, adding, “Every frame is another face that people cherish.”

The advertisement humorously incorporates references familiar to ’90s audiences. In one standout moment, Alexander, acting as a Dunkin’ store manager, humorously questions Affleck’s intellect, commenting on Dunkin’ treats displayed in a Fibonacci sequence. LeBlanc chimes in with a jest regarding Affleck’s choice to add ice to his coffee, a nod to his character Joey’s classic witticisms from “Friends.” At another point, Affleck uses Joey’s famous catchphrase “How you doin’?” with Jasmine Guy, blending nostalgia with humor.

The playful exchanges continue as Ribeiro holds a picture of Aniston, playfully referencing the “Friends” storyline with the line “We were on a break,” while Danson appears behind the Dunkin’ counter, reminiscent of his “Cheers” role. The ad culminates with Aniston playfully interacting with Affleck from outside the donut shop, as Brady looks on.

White expressed appreciation for the ad’s reflection of the 1990s era, highlighting the lasting magic of that decade. He fondly recalled his time filming “Family Matters,” noting the surreal experience of seeing Michael Jordan shooting scenes for “Space Jam” at the same studio. He describes the experience of casually observing Jordan engage in pick-up games after work.

Aside from the commercial’s charm, White shared his personal preferences, revealing that although he avoids coffee due to caffeine sensitivity, he favors Dunkin’s maple, sprinkles, and apple fritter donuts. As for Super Bowl predictions, while in line with “the Tom Brady party line,” White humorously expressed the hope for an entertaining game.
