Sherri Shepherd’s talk program, “Sherri,” has been discontinued after a four-season run. The announcement was confirmed by a representative for “Sherri” to “Good Morning America.” Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, co-presidents of the television syndication company Debmar-Mercury, provided a statement regarding the decision.
“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” stated Bernstein and Marcus. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.” Despite the cancellation, season 4 production will continue, culminating in the series’ final episodes airing in the fall.
Sherri Shepherd, an acclaimed US actress, posed for photos during her Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling on November 3, 2025. Her show “Sherri” was initially announced in 2022 by Debmar-Mercury’s co-presidents as a successor to “The Wendy Williams Show,” amid Williams’ continuing health challenges at that time. Shepherd began her journey as a talk show host in September 2022, having previously co-hosted “The View” for eight seasons.
Throughout its run, the talk show “Sherri” earned recognition and won two NAACP Image Awards. Shepherd received her first NAACP Image Award in 2024 for outstanding host in a talk or news/information series or special. Following this, the show won in 2025 for outstanding talk series. Additionally, “Sherri” was nominated for six Daytime Emmys.
In 2023, following the show’s success, Debmar-Mercury renewed “Sherri” for two more years, through the 2024-2025 season. Shepherd expressed her delight at the renewal, saying, “I am so thrilled that Sherri has been renewed for two more years. I launched this show with the mission to give daytime viewers a ‘good time,’ just like my theme song says. I am so appreciative that Fox and Debmar-Mercury have partnered with me to continue bringing more laughter, joy, and inspiration to my audience.” The fourth season of “Sherri” premiered in September 2025.
The announcement of the cancellation of Shepherd’s show coincided with Kelly Clarkson’s news of stepping down as host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” after seven seasons. NBC confirmed in a press release that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” would conclude after its current seventh season.
