Anthony Davis appears to be concluding his injury-affected time with the Dallas Mavericks. According to ESPN, the 10-time All-Star forward has been traded to the Washington Wizards in a significant deal.
As part of this trade, the Mavericks are set to acquire Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, along with a series of first- and second-round draft picks in return for Davis.

In addition to Davis, reports suggest that Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum will also be heading to Washington. This transaction marks the Wizards’ second major trade of 2026, showcasing the team’s ambitions for the future.
In a previous remarkable trade, the Wizards traded CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for four-time All-Star Trae Young. However, Young has not yet played for the Wizards due to knee and quadriceps injuries. His condition will be reassessed after the All-Star break scheduled for next week.

Earlier this year, Davis suffered a ligament injury in his left hand. However, Mavs’ medical team determined that surgery was not necessary. The team had estimated approximately six weeks for his recovery and healing process.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the New York Knicks defeated the Wizards 132-101. Following this, the Wizards found themselves in the 14th position in the Eastern Conference standings.
