Ludovic Mbock, a skilled Street Fighter player, faced significant challenges recently when he was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for several weeks. The gaming community rallied behind him, raising a substantial sum of $100,000 to aid his release.
Following this period of detention, Mbock participated in the Combo Breaker game festival held in Schaumburg, Illinois. This event allowed him to showcase his talents amidst a highly publicized backdrop.
In May, as the warm weather embraced Maryland, Mbock’s daily routine was affected by the ankle monitor he had to wear upon his release. Every morning since March, his thoughts have been preoccupied by this device, a consequence of securing his freedom with a $4,000 bond after his detention.
