The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 at Adlai E. Stevenson High School took place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates on May 22, 2026. Nearly 1,200 graduates participated in the event, which was filled with moments of pride and reflection.

Eric Twadell, the superintendent of Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 in Lincolnshire, highlighted the philanthropic spirit of the graduating class. He noted their collective fundraising efforts, which raised over $100,000 for various causes, embodying the school’s ideals not only in skills but also in spirit.

“As a class, you led fundraising efforts that have raised well over $100,000 for local, national, and global causes,” Twadell told graduating students from the stage. “You didn’t just grow, you gave. And you gave generously.”

Two student speakers addressed the audience. Nisa Rao of Riverwoods delivered the Scriptor Address, thanking the selfless individuals who contribute to the school community. Sanchi Deshpande from Lincolnshire presented the Gubernator Address, encouraging her peers to value the journey over the destination.

“We, Patriots, do not skip to the ending. We live the journey because if we knew the ending, it wouldn’t be worth a watch,” Deshpande remarked.

Aside from the speeches, the ceremony was marked by personal sentiments from students and families. Joie Goldstein of Buffalo Grove expressed the privilege of being a Patriot. Parents like Karthik Pushparaj of Buffalo Grove, whose son Aditya Karthik graduated, conveyed hopeful wishes for their children’s futures.

Jam and Maru Torres of Prairie View supported their daughter, Abigail “Aye Jay” Julianne Torres, with visible pride and affection. Jam Torres expressed immense pride, stating, “She’s going to grow up to be a wonderful, beautiful, young lady.”

Aye Jay, seated among her peers, thanked her parents and family for their sacrifices and support throughout her educational journey.
