Chick-fil-A is adding a spicy twist to its signature sauce, marking its first new permanent addition in ten years. The Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce will be available at restaurants across the United States on November 16. Customers can find it in both standard dipping cups and 8-ounce bottles, according to the company.
This new sauce offers a fusion of Chick-fil-A’s classic flavor with mustard and smoky undertones, combined with spicy peppers and a hint of sweetness. The company’s menu team wanted to create a unique experience while keeping the essence of the original sauce.
Allison Duncan, Chick-fil-A’s director of menu and packaging, commented on the new addition, emphasizing that guests are drawn to bold and spicy flavors. She stated, “As our first new permanent sauce in 10 years, Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce delivers an exciting kick to the signature flavor our guests know and love.”
Before the official announcement, customers had speculated online about the introduction of a spicy version. Some reddit users welcomed the idea, while others were uncertain about the heat level. One user expressed skepticism about whether it would truly be spicy, a common concern with fast-food offerings.
Chick-fil-A noted that their research found a spicy sauce to be the most requested addition by customers. Earlier this year, the chain also tested spicy chicken strips at two locations in Georgia, indicating growing interest in spicy menu items.
This new sauce follows the Sweet & Spicy Sriracha introduced in 2016. The chain’s Honey Mustard, Barbeque, and Polynesian sauces started the lineup back in 1984, with the original Chick-fil-A Sauce going nationwide in 2006.
