The British police mistakenly used incorrect search warrants when searching the homes of former Prince Andrew, according to a ruling by a British court on Thursday. Despite this error, the investigation into the prince’s brother can proceed.
The judge found that the police applied for the warrants under the wrong statutory provision. This admission of error came as the misconduct investigation against the king’s brother continues.
The search at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, England, occurred in February. Officers relied on these warrants, now deemed illegal, on the day of Prince Andrew’s arrest.
