Tyreek Hill Faces Domestic Abuse Allegations Amid Potential NFL Return

2 hours ago 0

Recent reports linked Tyreek Hill to a possible return to the Kansas City Chiefs. One report even quoted his agent, who expected the former All-Pro wide receiver to sign with a team soon. However, Hill’s divorce trial began Tuesday, bringing to light allegations of domestic abuse from Lakeeta Vaccaro, Hill’s estranged wife. Her complaint detailed eight instances of abuse.

While the divorce itself holds no interest for the NFL, the abuse allegations could impact Hill’s return under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy. Vaccaro was seen attending The Model Experience’s Fashion Week Festival in Los Angeles.

Despite being a free agent, the NFL is reviewing Vaccaro’s domestic violence allegations against Hill without a set timetable. The court’s consideration of these allegations will almost certainly play a role in deciding Hill’s eligibility to play.

Lakeeta Vaccaro is seeking punitive and compensatory damages from Hill. Her testimony revealed an incident in July 2024, where Hill allegedly tried to punch her stomach during a stay at an Orlando hotel. Vaccaro was pregnant then and testified she blocked the blow with her hands.

Hill remains a free agent. Whether the NFL will sanction him depends on this ongoing review. The court hearing these allegations will likely influence the league’s decision concerning Hill’s status.

Vaccaro, Hill’s estranged wife and sister of former NFL safety Kenny Vaccaro, described a pattern of abuse during their 18-month marriage. Periods of peace were allegedly followed by bouts of violence.

“During the 18-month marriage, it was a consistent two-week on, two-week off situation,” Vaccaro testified. “Of course, we had our beautiful moments. But then, in the two weeks of his angry periods, it was bad.”

Vaccaro alleged more incidents, including being pushed into a car door and physically thrown out of their house. She claimed Hill once left her stranded on the roadside after an argument.

Hill’s legal team attempted to highlight discrepancies between Vaccaro’s testimony and previous statements. They argued the lack of physical evidence to support the allegations and urged a critical examination of her claims.

History of Allegations

  • December 2014–2015: Hill was arrested for allegedly assaulting Crystal Espinal, his pregnant girlfriend. He later pleaded guilty, receiving probation. The case was dismissed and expunged in 2018.
  • 2019: Hill was investigated following an audio recording related to his son’s broken arm and threats towards Espinal. Prosecutors did not file charges, and the NFL chose not to suspend him.
  • 2024: British influencer Sophie Hall sued Hill for an incident in 2023, alleging he injured her during a football drill. A settlement was reached in May 2026.
  • 2024–2025: Vaccaro reported domestic disputes to police, alleging physical altercations and a report of Hill holding their baby near a balcony.

The court proceedings ended at 5 p.m., with neither Hill nor Vaccaro speaking to the press. The trial is set to continue Wednesday.
