Tatjana Genrich, a former Miss Germany, is venturing into professional boxing. Known for her modeling accomplishments and pageant success, Genrich is preparing for her debut fight next month. At 33, she already has a background in the sport, having once been an amateur boxer.
Before claiming the Miss Germany title in 2022, and awards like “Best in Swimsuit” at the Miss Intercontinental 2022, Genrich was an accomplished amateur athlete. She took the amateur state championship title in the flyweight division for three consecutive years from 2007 to 2009, as reported by the German outlet Bild.
Genrich’s journey into boxing started early. She recalls being bullied in school and wanting to defend herself, which spurred her interest in the sport. Despite her modeling commitments and pageant ambitions, her dream of turning professional is now within reach.
Her return to the ring was prompted by her involvement with SES Boxing events, where she sponsors ring girls. Her past achievements in boxing caught the attention of the promotion, paving the way for her to appear in the fight card scheduled for November 14.
Under the guidance of coach Dirk Dzemski, who previously trained two-time WBO super-middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz, Genrich is dedicating herself to rigorous training. She practices five days a week, showing her commitment, stating, “I work up a good sweat. But no pain, no gain. I’m really enjoying it, though.”
Genrich aims to inspire young women by demonstrating success in both professional and athletic realms. Her ultimate ambition extends beyond this debut fight, as she hopes to one day become a world champion, as highlighted by Bild.
