Being at an Ivy League institution sometimes plays a significant role. Harvard Crimson secured a thrilling victory against the Colgate Raiders on Saturday night with a score of 20-17. The game involved a dramatic turn of events, including a quick-thinking play that followed a challenging false start.

In the final moments, Colgate appeared to have the win when quarterback Jake Stearney connected with wide receiver Matt Fogler for a 13-yard touchdown. With just 27 seconds remaining, Harvard had a glimmer of hope to tie the game and push for overtime.

Harvard’s quarterback, Charlie Smith, worked diligently to advance the ball, setting up kicker Francisco Moscoso for a potential game-tying field goal attempt. Yet, a false start penalty by Harvard’s special teams pushed them out of field goal range. With one final opportunity, Smith threw the ball to Teigan Pelletier, who, while short of the end zone, managed to keep the play alive.

Pelletier passed the ball to teammate Nate Bailey, who charged into the end zone as the time expired, securing Harvard’s victory.

Harvard’s win improved their record to 3-0, sparking excitement across social media platforms as fans celebrated the incredible finish.

Nate Bailey made a significant impact with 16 catches, totaling 197 yards and a touchdown. His performance ranks second in Harvard’s single-game receptions history. Smith concluded the match with 369 passing yards, alongside two touchdown passes.

For Colgate, Stearney completed 21 out of 39 passes, amassing 188 yards and a touchdown. Fogler contributed with 12 catches for 138 yards and a score. Despite the loss, Colgate stands at 4-2 for the season.
