Azeez Al-Shaair, a linebacker for the Houston Texans, attracted attention when he attempted to display pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel messages on his eyeblack for a second week in a row. An NFL official informed Al-Shaair that failure to comply with league rules would result in his removal from the game.

Al-Shaair, who received an $11,492 fine in Week 1 for inscribing the name of a Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, aimed to continue his statement in Week 2. Despite the initial fine not deterring him, the threat of being removed from the game was more persuasive.
