On August 16, 2026, at around 1:51 PM, a 911 call reported a cardiac arrest at 701 Easley Bridge Road, Greenville. First responders found Panettiere in cardiac arrest and performed lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at 2:32 PM.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Greenville City Police Department investigated. The 36-year-old actress, identified as Hayden Leslie Panettiere of California, was found inside a residence where she was staying. A forensic autopsy found no signs of trauma.
