ProPublica reported that Kremlev, head of the International Boxing Association, financed parts of Trump Jr.’s wedding festivities in the Bahamas. This included expenses for a private island and a fireworks display. Payments were made through a Dubai-based entity associated with the boxing body.

Kremlev, alongside Russian guests, attended these events, drawing attention for the delegation’s notable presence. The Russian attendees were largely omitted from the released photos and videos.

Trump Jr.’s representative acknowledged Kremlev’s financial role, noting the personal friendship aspect. Similar remarks were made by Kremlev’s spokesperson.

Born Umar Lutfulloyev, Kremlev changed his name in 2010. His early life featured criminal convictions, but he later joined the Night Wolves, aligning himself with Kremlin allies.

Rising in Russian boxing circles, Kremlev became president of the Russian Boxing Federation and later the International Boxing Association. Under his leadership, the IBA secured sponsorship from Gazprom.

The IOC eventually revoked the IBA’s status over governance concerns. Former officials accused Kremlev of leveraging boxing for political purposes.
