President Trump’s 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Commemoration

President Donald Trump will attend a ceremony at the Pentagon to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. This event aims to honor the victims and first responders from that tragic day. As a proud New Yorker, President Trump has spoken about his own experiences watching the horrific events of September 11, 2001,” stated White House principal deputy press secretary Anna Kelly. She emphasized that he would remember those lost to ‘evil terrorists,’ honor their families, and pay tribute to the first responders who risked their lives.

Trump will also attend a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Pentagon. Vice President JD Vance will commemorate the attacks at the World Trade Center site in New York. Additional administration officials plan to gather in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This ensures the White House’s presence at all main sites related to the attacks.

In New York, Vice President Vance will join former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, along with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, for a remembrance ceremony.

Last year, Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended a commemoration at the Pentagon. He issued a proclamation for flags to fly at half-staff in honor of the day. He later attended a Yankees-Tigers game in the Bronx, where tributes to the victims were held.

During Trump’s first term, he was present at the Pentagon for memorials in 2017 and 2019. In 2018 and 2020, he visited the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Trump experienced the tragedy as a real estate developer in New York City. He described witnessing the explosion at the World Trade Center while watching from his office.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation brought its “Steel Across America” tour to the White House. The tour displayed a significant steel beam from the World Trade Center’s South Tower. This 21-foot, 16,900-pound artifact served as a traveling memorial through 21 states, leading up to the anniversary.
