Tom Homan Refutes Claims About ICE Facility Conditions

Border czar Tom Homan strongly refutes allegations of inhumane conditions at a New Jersey ICE facility. Homan addresses claims of hunger strikes and mistreatment as lies from Democratic politicians. After his personal inspection of medical, recreation, and housing units, he found the facility well-maintained and himself ate the same meal as detainees to ensure food quality.

Rosie O’Donnell, in her TikTok video titled ‘Friday Ramble,’ criticized the Trump administration, comparing ICE operations to Holocaust concentration camps. She claimed current fascism in the U.S. and mentioned alleged atrocities at ICE detention centers. Her viral statements included grave accusations of sexual abuse and detention conditions.

In response, the Department of Homeland Security condemned O’Donnell’s comments, asserting they are baseless and contribute to increased threats and attacks against ICE officers. A DHS spokesman shared data showing severe increases in assaults, vehicular attacks, and death threats against officers due to such statements. Public figures, the White House, and Joe Concha have criticized O’Donnell’s comparisons to World War II internment camps, labeling them as exaggerated and irresponsible.

The DHS has countered O’Donnell’s claims, stating that ICE detention centers provide standards superior to most U.S. prisons. Detainees receive essential amenities like meals, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, and toiletries. They also have access to phones for communicating with family and lawyers. Dieticians evaluate meals, and comprehensive healthcare services are available. DHS affirmed the rarity of pregnant detainees, with only 0.15% in custody. Pregnant women receive prenatal care, mental health services, and nutritional support.

The spokesman stressed that under the Trump administration, ICE focuses on arresting illegal aliens charged or convicted of heinous crimes. The agency uses legal authority to make arrests based on reasonable suspicion and has received Supreme Court validation on these practices. ICE aims to arrest and deport those violating U.S. laws, asserting their commitment to community safety and protection.

The DHS has criticized O’Donnell for her narrative, claiming that it aids traffickers and smugglers. They urge illegal aliens to self-deport for a chance to later return legally to the U.S. True to their mission, ICE agents strive to protect Americans by targeting criminals among illegal aliens.
