Tragic Incident in Times Square: The Story of Pamela Cisneros

The family of Pamela Cisneros, who was involved in a fatal stabbing incident in Times Square, revealed her long history of mental illness, including postpartum depression and multiple hospitalizations. She had even attempted suicide by jumping onto subway tracks. Cisneros, aged 49, stabbed two strangers, killing one, before being shot dead by NYPD officers. Her brother, Patrick Peralta, expressed shock, stating that she had never harmed anyone else before this incident.

On Facebook, Cisneros had written posts about “the end times,” hinting at violent actions. On November 30, 2025, she referenced various global issues, including wars and homelessness, as signs of these apocalyptic events.

Peralta, who has a different father but was raised with Cisneros, remembers her as a cheerful child. Her mental health issues began around two decades ago, following the birth of her second daughter. This daughter’s condition, being autistic and nonverbal, and living in a Brooklyn group home, also brought challenges. The other two daughters live in Florida with their father, her ex-husband.

Cisneros had a history of hospitalizations, including once being rescued from subway tracks in Queens. Police sources confirmed this incident as a consequence of a mental health crisis. She had been prescribed monthly injections of psychiatric medication, which her brother believed kept her stable when administered.

The tragic event in Times Square unfolded when Cisneros attacked a man with a knife. Within moments, she fatally stabbed another victim, Erin Piacenti, a Bank of America vice president. Police intervened near a substation and, after using a taser, shot her as she advanced on them.

Peralta shared that his sister had been out of work but recently became an administrative assistant. The family is now filled with sorrow for the affected victims. They had noticed unusual behavior before the incident, as Cisneros had stopped visiting her parents regularly. Despite this, her recent interactions with family seemed normal.

The events have left Cisneros’ family deeply shocked and grieving, with a sense of disbelief that such an incident could have occurred.
