Richard Russo, known for his literary achievements, has written ten novels and won the Pulitzer Prize. He has also worked on screen adaptations and TV series drawn from his novels. His newest book, “Under the Falls,” revisits the community of his upbringing.
Senior arts correspondent Jeffrey Brown recently spoke with Russo for the arts and culture series, CANVAS. Brown has built a career spanning over 30 years at the News Hour, where he has taken on various roles, including co-anchor and studio moderator. He has reported on a wide range of issues both nationally and internationally, traveling extensively for his work.
In his role as arts correspondent, Brown has profiled prominent writers, musicians, and actors. His contributions to the News Hour include the “Culture at Risk” series, which focused on threatened cultural heritage, and the creation of the online segment “Art Beat.” He also hosts the “Now Read This” book club, which is a collaboration with The New York Times.
