Brock Rechsteiner’s Training Camp Brawl and WWE Connection

34 minutes ago 0

During a joint training camp session earlier this week, New Orleans Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner engaged in a heated brawl with the Dallas Cowboys. Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and nephew of Rick Steiner, attracted attention as he applied wrestling moves like German suplexes on his opponents.

Training Camp Incident

The altercation, which took place at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center in Metairie, Louisiana, saw Rechsteiner involved in an intense skirmish that also included punches and helmets being thrown. This scene caught the eye of former WWE commentator Pat McAfee. McAfee remarked that Rechsteiner’s skills on the field resemble those of his WWE lineage, suggesting he should consider joining NXT alongside his cousin Bron Breakker.

WWE Ties and Performance

Bron Breakker, Rechsteiner’s cousin, is gaining prominence in WWE and is set to compete against Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6. Rechsteiner himself, before the incident, signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with WWE along with his brother, Brandon Rechsteiner.

Suspension and Career Background

Following the incident, Rechsteiner received a six-game suspension due to a violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Previously, in his college career at Jacksonville State, he tallied 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns from 2023 to 2025. In his final year, he recorded 36 catches for 383 yards and five touchdowns.

Other Career Moves

Rechsteiner initially signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent before joining the New Orleans Saints. Meanwhile, his brother Brandon played for the Colorado State Rams men’s basketball team and has announced his transfer to Kansas State after averaging 12 points per game.
