Von Miller Joins Dallas Cowboys for 15th NFL Season

Von Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion, has announced his signing with the Dallas Cowboys for his 15th NFL season. While the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, Miller shared a photoshopped image of himself in a Cowboys uniform, expressing enthusiasm for the move.

Miller’s past teammate, Cowboys legend Demarcus Ware, celebrated the announcement by sharing a FaceTime screenshot of the duo smiling, expressing excitement for Miller joining the Cowboys.

During his previous stint with the Washington Commanders, Miller recorded nine sacks and 26 combined tackles over 17 games. His future with the Cowboys includes facing NFC East teams, including his former team, the Commanders.

As a defensive end, Miller boasts two First Team All-Pro honors and ties for ninth all-time in NFL sacks alongside Ware, with 138.5 career sacks.

This move marks a return home for Miller, who hails from DeSoto, Texas. He initially made a name for himself at DeSoto High School and later at Texas A&M before the Denver Broncos drafted him second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.

For the Cowboys, Miller’s signing continues their quest to bolster a struggling defense that has sought to replace Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers. Last season, the Cowboys ended with only 31 sacks, ranking in the league’s lower third. The defense also allowed the third-most yards and the most points per game.

Efforts to improve have included acquiring former Packers linebacker Rashan Gary, ex-Chargers defensive end Otito Ogbonnia, and former 49ers linebacker Dee Winters. Key draft selections, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs and UCF linebacker Malachi Lawrence, have also been brought in to enhance the roster.

Under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker, the Cowboys aim to strengthen their defense while maintaining a powerful offensive presence, previously the league’s second-best in yards during 2025. Miller’s performance in 2025 displayed his capabilities, and his return to Texas may further energize his contributions to the team.
