Engelbert Humperdinck, at the age of 90, credits an unusual workout routine for keeping him fit and active. Known as the ‘King of Romance,’ the British singer recently discussed his exercise methods on ‘The Jim Masters Show.’ His regimen involves walking and performing martial arts moves underwater in a pool. He believes this routine is vital for maintaining his health and fitness, allowing him to present himself respectably to his audience.

Despite his age, Humperdinck continues to perform regularly, with concert dates lined up into 2027. He is also preparing to release a new album, ‘Faithfully,’ on August 28. The album features his renditions of songs by famous bands like Journey and Aerosmith, with collaboration from various guest musicians.

Humperdinck’s classic 1968 song ‘A Man Without Love’ found renewed interest after being featured in Marvel Studios’ ‘Moon Knight.’ This has helped him reach younger audiences, emphasizing that music, not age, is what truly matters. The emotional depth of his songs has increased following the passing of his wife, Patricia, in 2021, after she battled Alzheimer’s disease and COVID-19. They were married for 57 years.

Reflecting on his career, Humperdinck shared the joy he feels while performing. He regards himself as a ‘thespian of song,’ connecting deeply with his lyrics. The loss of his wife has brought more sincerity to his performances. He has always loved singing ballads, believing they unite people and evoke emotions.

Looking to the future, Humperdinck wishes for his music to continue connecting people. He sees his legacy as timeless, with his songs persisting beyond his own life. The ongoing acknowledgment and enjoyment of past hits inspire him, affirming the lasting impact he hopes to leave.
