Fans Escorted During Las Vegas Aces Game After Incident with Jackie Young

During the third quarter of Thursday night’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever, two men were escorted from their seats by security at Jackie Young’s request. The incident began when Aces’ player Jackie Young pointed out the men to a referee. The game halted with 4:38 left in the third quarter as Young described the situation, signaling for security assistance several times.

Initially, security removed a woman from the front row opposite the Aces’ bench. However, she returned shortly after, while two men seated nearby were eventually escorted through the tunnel.

After the Aces’ 86-84 overtime victory, Young explained that one of the men had been verbally heckling her throughout the game. At some point, the comments crossed a line. “He was just chirping all game,” Young stated. “I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far.” Young chose not to disclose the specific comments made.

Despite the incident, a subsequent statement revealed that the Indiana Fever found “no code violation.” The fan chose to leave voluntarily. “Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed,” the statement, as reported by Yahoo Sports, added.

The fan disruption diverted attention from an intense basketball game. Chelsea Gray’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer forced the game into overtime. Gray clinched the win with another buzzer-beating 3-pointer, resulting in an 86-84 victory for the Aces in Indiana. Young had an impressive performance, scoring 22 points, along with nine assists, four rebounds, and five fouls during the thrilling overtime match.

After the win, Young addressed how fans should conduct themselves. “They did the right thing. Obviously, we don’t want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we’re human too. So let’s just show up to games, have fun, and not take it too far,” Young shared.
