The Trump administration is introducing new guidelines aimed at overhauling the Head Start program. This potential change could impact the way Head Start operates nationwide.

Head Start began in 1965 as part of President Johnson’s War on Poverty. Currently, it assists 700,000 children aged three to five, as well as 160,000 infants and toddlers through Early Head Start.

In a discussion about these proposed changes, Amna Nawaz spoke with Coral Davenport from The New York Times.
