Emmy Rossum Stars As An FBI Agent In Hulu’s Bold New Thriller ‘Furious’

Emmy Rossum takes on the role of FBI agent Alice Black in the new Hulu series, Furious, created by Elizabeth Meriwether. This series follows the tradition of stories about female agents targeting female fugitives. Previous works include Lucky on Apple TV and the successful Killing Eve on BBC America. The inspiration for Furious traces back to the 1987 movie Black Widow, featuring Debra Winger as the protagonist and Theresa Russell as a serial killer.

The series Furious goes beyond a simple update of Black Widow. Meriwether brings depth and unpredictability, thanks to her experience with New Girl, The Dropout, and Dying for Sex. Emmy Rossum shines as FBI agent Alice Black, navigating tense interactions with colleagues, including her challenging boss played by Danny McCarthy.

Alice pursues a suspected serial murderer, portrayed by Lola Petticrew, known for her role in Say Nothing. Her character is complex and elusive, adopting various identities. Her introduction is chilling, lying next to her dying victim before delivering a lethal fentanyl injection. Her calculated schemes unfold as she targets a wealthy lawyer at a party, played by Rob Delaney, a character with shades from Dying for Sex.
