Baron Corbin has made a triumphant return to WWE, marking his full comeback by targeting Trick Williams and the United States Championship. His efforts bore fruit on Sunday night at SummerSlam, where he took advantage of a distracted Williams to recapture the title.
During the event at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Corbin seized the opportunity when rapper Lil Yachty, serving as Williams’ valet, inadvertently turned the tide in Corbin’s favor. Yachty threatened Corbin with the “Trick Stick,” drawing Corbin’s attention back to Williams. Later, when Yachty intervened again, Corbin capitalized by sending Williams into Yachty, causing a dramatic fall through a table.
With the referee’s focus elsewhere, Corbin took the initiative and struck Williams with the championship belt. Following this, he executed his finishing move, the End of Days, to pin Williams and secure the victory.
This victory marks Corbin’s second reign as the U.S. champion, having first claimed the title in 2017. Corbin left WWE in 2024, gaining recognition in the independent wrestling scene and finding success in Major League Wrestling as a tag team champion alongside Donovan Dijak. His return to WWE now sees him at the top once more.
As for Trick Williams, his tenure as champion ends after 105 days. He had previously secured the championship against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
