As of Sunday morning, over 600 structures in Spokane, Washington have been destroyed by wildfires. This figure is expected to rise as damage assessment teams begin their work, according to Benjamin Cossel, spokesperson for the federal team overseeing the crisis.
Firefighters are actively combating three wildfires that have affected the region. The fast-moving flames prompted the evacuation of approximately 5,000 homes on the north side of Spokane, as reported on Saturday. The exact breakdown of the destroyed structures between homes and businesses remains unknown at this time.
