Podcaster Joe Rogan questioned the direction and sustainability of the U.S. military campaign against Iran during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. He pointed out there is “no clear way” to end the conflict. Speaking with journalist Annie Jacobsen, Rogan expressed concern over potential “fundamental warping” of the U.S. military. He emphasized issues such as dwindling stockpiles and drone attacks on bases.

“No clear way to resolve this at all. Our stockpiles are running dry. Bases are getting blown up by drones,” Rogan stated.

Rogan argued that U.S. actions have provoked hostility, making America an enemy and decreasing national safety.

Rogan’s criticisms come as support for Trump’s Iran policy wanes. A Quinnipiac University poll shows 34% of voters support U.S. military action against Iran, while 60% oppose it. Trump’s approval rating on Iran has dipped to 28%, with a disapproval rating of 66%.

The polling data provides insight into shifting public opinion. Across 963 registered voters, 26% of independents support the military action compared to 69% who oppose it. A separate poll by YouGov/The Economist found Trump’s approval on Iran was 31% with a disapproval rating of 59%.

Political science expert Robert Y. Shapiro commented that those who might be influenced by Rogan are already aware of the situation’s unfolding reality. Shapiro believes Rogan’s statements convey growing disapproval toward Trump’s strategy.

Political Implications of Rogan’s Criticism

As a prominent podcast host, Rogan’s opinions carry influence, especially since he has supported Trump in the past. Rogan expressed disbelief in the rationale behind military actions against Iran. He suggested U.S. interests might align more with Israeli interests, questioning the coherence of the strategy.

“It just doesn’t make any sense to me unless we’re acting on someone else’s interest, like particularly Israel’s interests,” Rogan said.

Rogan believes Trump has not adhered to his promise of avoiding new wars, leading to widespread feelings of betrayal among supporters.

With public opinion divided, Rogan’s assertion of “no clear way” to resolve the situation echoes beyond his audience, influencing debate among conservatives and independents.
