An electrical fire broke out at TikTok’s headquarters in Culver City on Wednesday, causing numerous employees to evacuate the seven-story building. Police and firefighters promptly responded to the scene.
Witnesses described hearing loud bangs and experiencing power outages. Some employees were trapped in elevators and required rescue. Despite initial chaos, firefighters quickly managed to extinguish the blaze. Experts are now evaluating both structural and electrical damage.
The building at 5800 Bristol Parkway has housed TikTok’s Los Angeles operations since 2020. It covers 120,000 square feet, contains studios and murals, and accommodates approximately 1,000 workers.
Jennifer Atenza, spokesperson for the Culver City Police Department, stated that the fire started on the first floor. It appears to have been caused by electrical issues. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there is no evidence of arson.
Southern California Edison’s staff, alongside a building engineer, are currently assessing the damage. TikTok had consolidated its Los Angeles operations into this location in January 2020.
