Kerri Rawson, daughter of infamous “BTK” serial killer Dennis Rader, is under a domestic violence injunction after her ex-husband alleged threats to his and their children’s lives. Rawson, a noted advocate for crime victims since Rader’s 2005 arrest, has been speaking and writing about her experiences as the child of a notorious murderer.
A Florida judge issued the injunction following a petition from Darian Rawson, who described incidents making him fear for the safety of their two teenage children. The order granted him full custody, limited Kerri Rawson’s contact to electronic communication, and restricted her proximity to their home and school. She is also not allowed to interact with the family pets.
The petition claims Kerri Rawson told her ex-husband at an Altamonte Springs police station on January 5, 2025, about psychic abilities warning her of immediate danger to their children. It continued that she warned police of potential harm to the family, followed by a 911 call reporting active shooters and fatalities at an apartment complex. Responding officers found the family unharmed, as cited in a police report.
Kerri Rawson was later located at Orlando International Airport and transported to a hospital, where she voluntarily admitted herself under scrutiny. The petition notes that she was detained under Florida’s Baker Act for a mental health evaluation. An incident report described her as having a history of making inaccurate claims due to mental health issues.
The Post reported that Kerri Rawson violated the no-contact order by repeatedly reaching out to Darian Rawson. Her father, Dennis Rader, dubbed “BTK” for “bind, torture, kill,” murdered 10 individuals in Wichita, Kansas, from 1974 to 1991 while leading a seemingly normal life. Rader admitted guilt in 2005 and is serving 10 life terms.
Kerri Rawson’s memoir “A Serial Killer’s Daughter” was published in 2019, sharing insights into her father’s crimes and her advocacy work. She has also participated in documentaries and television discussions on the subject. A representative for Kerri Rawson did not provide comments to Fox News Digital.
