7 days ago 0

A powerful tornado hit the south side of Appleton, Wisconsin on Monday midday, causing substantial damage to buildings and infrastructure. The roof of Miller Electric in Appleton notably collapsed due to the storm’s force, highlighting the extent of devastation. Despite forecasters predicting an enhanced risk for severe weather, they initially expected only a low-end marginal risk of tornadoes.

If the National Weather Service confirms the damage as EF3, this will be the fourth EF3 tornado in Wisconsin this year, marking a significant weather phenomenon for the region.

The situation draws attention to the unpredictability and increasing severity of weather patterns, posing challenges to forecasting and preparedness efforts.
