President Donald Trump addressed questions regarding rumors about whether Russia might have been involved in the death of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. The Senator passed away at the age of 71 after experiencing a brief illness. His office announced his passing on Saturday.
Before his death, Graham had recently returned from Kyiv, where he held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to initial findings, Graham died from an aortic dissection related to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
During an interview with Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly, Trump was questioned about possible suspicions surrounding Graham’s death. Kelly highlighted Russia’s history of alleged poisonings, noting that Graham had previously advocated for the removal of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kelly asked Trump whether there might be more to the story behind Graham’s death.
Trump replied, “To address the conspiracy theory, I would love to say yes, but I think he had some problems… and his father died just about at the same age.” He noted that Graham had “deep-seated” health issues, indicating that these were not obvious or easy to detect.
Trump further mentioned reports from doctors, stating that a specific part of Graham’s body “literally blew up.”
