Authorities Rescue 16 Children from Ohio Home

Authorities have rescued 16 children from a severely rundown home in rural Ohio. The children were confined to a single room for much of the last four years, enduring uninhabitable conditions.

The operation took place in Hamden, Ohio, where police removed the children and arrested four adults responsible for the living situation. The home had numerous signs of neglect and disrepair.

Photographic evidence captured shows debris scattered across the property’s front lawn. Inside the home, more debris was found, illustrating the harsh conditions the children were subjected to.

Adults arrested in connection with the case included Gary Siders Sr., Christine Siders, Elizabeth Siders, and Gary Siders Jr. Their identities were confirmed by the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Additional images from the site show police tape surrounding the home, signaling the area as a crime scene. Items like a gas can and a bench were visible beyond the police tape.

Some photos depicted the poor conditions animals faced at the home, such as a bowl of dog food left on the side porch, and a cat peering through a side door opening.
