Campbell’s iconic red-and-white soup cans are getting a fresh update. New additions are set to enhance the historic brand’s range.
Gluten-Free Innovations
In response to the growing trend of gluten-free diets among Americans, Campbell’s has collaborated with Banza to introduce a gluten-free version of its well-known condensed chicken noodle soup. This new variant combines the comforting taste of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup with Banza’s gluten-free chickpea penne pasta, ensuring fans enjoy the classic flavor they cherish.
Approximately 30% of the U.S. population actively seeks gluten-free options, and the gluten-free market is predicted to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 9.8% from 2026 to 2033.
Gluten is a protein found in certain grains, commonly present in bread, pasta, baked goods, some sauces, and soups. Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition where gluten intake results in the body attacking the small intestine. The Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) notes that about 1% of individuals have celiac disease, yet only around 30% receive an accurate diagnosis. More people may have non-celiac gluten sensitivity or wheat sensitivity, though precise figures are uncertain.
Symptoms of gluten sensitivity, as described by the CDF, include depression, ADHD-like behavior, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, headaches, bone pain, joint pain, and chronic fatigue.
Classic Meets Modern
For over 125 years, Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup has been a cherished part of American households. Benjamin Crook, senior vice president of soup at Campbell’s, stated that the collaboration with Banza allows them to offer the traditional chicken noodle taste to those who prefer gluten-free options. The soup features No Antibiotics Ever chicken meat and chickpea pasta. The new version is now available on Amazon and will soon be in retailers nationwide.
Bold Partnerships
Campbell’s Chunky, a heartier version of their soups, has teamed up with Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) to create Campbell’s Chunky Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Chicken Noodle Soup. Buffalo Wild Wings holds the title of the largest sports bar brand in the U.S., and this collaboration is part of their expanding off-premise business via Buffalo Wild Wings GO, which focuses on takeout and delivery.
The partnership aligns with Chunky brand’s strategy to attract a new generation of soup consumers with modern, bold flavors.
The BWW soup offers 17 grams of protein per 18.8-ounce can and is currently available at retailers.
Bolder Flavors
Last fall, Campbell’s introduced two new Chunky soups aimed at providing bolder flavors for consumers. The Campbell’s Chunky x Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Cheese with Potatoes & Chorizo Soup features chorizo and potatoes simmered in creamy cheese with a Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer flavor twist. Meanwhile, the Campbell’s Chunky x Pabst Blue Ribbon Beef, Bacon & Beer Chili with Beans delivers seasoned beef, beans, smoky bacon, and a hint of PBR flavor. Both are Walmart exclusives.
Last year, amidst high levels of home cooking, Campbell’s CEO Mick Beekhuizen commented on consumers’ preference for value, quality, and convenience offered by Campbell’s brands.
In 2025, Campbell’s noted an unspecified increase in soup sales alongside a 5% decrease in organic snack sales.
