President Trump is selling gold commemorative coins for the UFC ‘Freedom 250’ fight. This event is happening at the White House on his 80th birthday. The coins, designed by Trump, feature his face and sell for up to $12,000.
Comedic Reactions
On The Daily Show, Desi Lydic mocked the high price. “$12,000? For a coin? Does it come with a used Honda Civic?” she quipped, questioning if a coin is the right way to celebrate a UFC event. She joked that it might be more fitting for a ‘tramp stamp.’
Lydic continued, noting the odd choice for UFC fans. She pretended to be a fan saying, “The only thing I love more than fighting is cherishing memories with decorative coinage.”
She described the coin sale as typical of Trump, a leader who would capitalize on any opportunity. “No amount of money is too small for him to grift,” she said, referring to his past ventures in crypto schemes and now coins.
Jimmy Kimmel also joined the mockery, proposing, “It takes a special kind of con man to sell your supporters money they cannot spend any place.”
