Two congressional Republicans are set to introduce a resolution on Wednesday that aims to counter rising anti-Israel sentiment in the United States. They propose to end the practice of offering direct military aid to Israel without charge.
The resolution comes in the wake of recent conflicts, including an Israeli airstrike on Nabatieh, Lebanon, which resulted in visible damage and rising smoke, as captured by photographer Adri Salido.
During a meeting in Jerusalem last week, U.S. Representative Marlin Stutzman from Indiana presented Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with documents outlining the proposal. This initiative calls for a reevaluation of the United States’ military aid strategy, particularly the funds provided freely to Israel.
The move highlights a growing discourse around the United States’ role in military support and its implications for international relations and anti-Israel views within the country.
